“Rejoicing in hope;patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer”.
Romans 12:12
After seeing the movie “Selma” yesterday there are so many reasons to feel discouraged when we know that a lot of people including Dr. King lost their lives for justice & equality and it seems that the times are not getting any better and we don’t have a solution.
In Romans, Paul knew that all of us need hope. The bible also tells us in
{1Corinthians 13:13} that hope endures. No matter how dark or depressing our circumstances may appear, we always can hope in God!
Today remind yourself not to place your hope in the world, the world system, or any human being in the world. Rejoice in the hope that God has given you.

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.
Psalm 119:105
Regardless of conditions or circumstances, we should trust, receive and adopt only the Word of God for guidance. As a lamp and a light, his Word is sufficient in directing us toward himself. Since his Word is powerful enough to provide light on any situation. ..we can make good choices.

“Only the Strong Survive”
1 Chronicles 4:9-10
And Jabez was more honourable than his brethren;and his mother called his name Jabez,saying Because I bare him in sorrow.
And Jabez called on the the God of Israel,saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.{KJV}
Jacob couls have accepted his pain, as fate, or he could have been very resentful, bitter, or angry. But instead he went to God and asked him to change his life.
He asked God for four things:
1. That God would bless Him
2.That God would enlarge his territory
3.That God’s hand would be with him
4.That God would keep him from evil.
This story shows us that no matter what name people call us….God can change the mark! But…..with God’s help we can change!!!!

Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the Lord unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.
Zechariah 4:6
As instruments of God’s delivering Spirit, we can reconnect the broken pieces in our lives, hopes, families, relationships, marriages, communities, church families and our people. By the power of the Spirit of the Lord we can move from panic to prayer, from stress to peace, from worry to worship.

“I have provided the ravens to provide for you there…behold, I have commanded a widow there to provide for you”.
1 Kings 17:4
God will provide!!!! He can work in many different ways and times in our life.The bible tells us that His ways are higher than our ways, His thoughts are not our thoughts.{Isaiah 55:9}
don’t put God in a box. Let Him speak to you and guide you. Don’t limit Him. And don’t be surprised if He leads you in surprising ways.

“Among those nations you shall find no rest, and there will be no resting place for the sole of your foot; but there the Lord will give you a trembling heart, failing of eyes, and despair of soul”.
Deuteronomy 28:65
When things are going smoothly we rarely think about the heart, we take it for granted. but the heart reminds us of how fragile our lives really are.
As we commit our lives to God with all our hearts, He promises to direct and guide us. {Proverbs 3:5-6} Even when we go through struggles and uncertain times.
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you, not as the world gives do I give you.Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful” {John 14:27}

“What I do you do not realize now, but you will understand hereafter,’ Peter said to Him, “Never shall You wash my feet!” Jesus answered him, If I do not wash you, you have no part with Me”. Simon Peter said to Him, “Lord, then wash not only my feet, but also my hands and my head.”
John 13:7-9
We all go through uncertainties and problems, but God has everything under control. He knew we may be tossed and driven by”the restless sea”, and face “somber skies and howling tempests”. But someday, when the mists have rolled away, we will never understand all that we’ve gone through.
Someday, we will be able to “tell the story how we’ve overcome”. Dark trials may surround us”on every hand” but we can have faith that God will “guide us with His eye”. We may be tested and face”temptations” and “hidden snares”, but we can trust in God and His Word.

“A man was there who had been ill for thirty-eight years…He said to him, “Do you wish to get well?” The sick man answered Him “Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool”….Jesus said to him, “Get up, pick up your pallet and walk”. Immediately the man became well, and picked up his pallet and began to walk”.
John 5:5-9
As with the lame man, Jesus wants us to understand that He is the authority in every situation, and that He is not bound to limits. He is with us in situations where there seems to be no hope, and when problems seem insurmountable. No matter what you are going through, whatever you are facing, remember that God has no limits.
